Entry Level Traffic Engineer
(Reno, NV)
Headway Transportation is seeking a transportation engineer for a unique and challenging position. The firm is consistently growing and seeks a transportation professional with 0 to 5 years of experience, committed to delivering high quality work in a dynamic, fast-paced consulting environment. Headway provides specialized traffic and transportation services (planning, analysis, design, and construction support) to public and private sector clients throughout California and Nevada. Minimum Requirements:
Four-year degree in Civil/Transportation Engineering, or a closely related field
EIT Certification
Any experience as an engineer or planner in the traffic / transportation field including:
Multi-modal planning, transit planning, or urban design
Level of service calculations and simulation using common software packages
Traffic Impact Studies
Safety Evaluations and Road Safety Audits
Pedestrian and Bicycle Facility Planning or Design
Traffic Data Collection
Stop Sign or Signal Warrant Analysis or other applications of the MUTCD
Transportation Facility Design such as Geometrics, Traffic Signals, Signing, Striping, Lighting
Outstanding interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
Desire and ability to directly interact with a broad range of clients
Flexibility, self-starter/self-motivated personality, and a service minded attitude is required
Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 annually, depending on qualifications
Benefits: Health Insurance, Paid Time Off, Holidays, Bonus Program, 401k (3% employer contribution)

Senior Traffic Engineer or Transportation Planner
(Reno/Truckee/Lake Tahoe or Flexible Location Potential)
Headway is continually growing and currently seeks an experienced senior level Traffic Engineer or Transportation Planner to lead key projects in Nevada and California. The position requires a skilled professional with 10 to 20+ years of experience who is committed to delivering high quality work in a dynamic, fast-paced consulting environment. This position offers unlimited opportunities to manage projects, lead a practice or market area, develop clients, mentor staff, deepen an area of technical expertise, and establish a long-term career path within a leading transportation firm. The position can include a significant firm-wide role such as discipline, office, or market leadership. This is a unique opportunity with an emerging firm. Minimum Requirements:
Four-year degree in Civil/Transportation Engineering, PE, TE, or AICP is required
10 to 20+ years of experience as an Engineer or Planner in the transportation field with at least 5 years as a project manager in a transportation or traffic consulting firm
Verifiable experience in at least three (3) of the following technical areas:
· Traffic Operations Analysis & Simulation
· Travel Demand Modelling
· Traffic Signal and Roundabout Design
· Signing & Striping Plans
· Bicycle & Pedestrian Facility Planning & Design
· Traffic Impact Studies
· Master Transportation Plans
· VMT Analysis & CEQA Environmental Impact Studies
Outstanding interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
Desire and ability to directly interact with a broad range of clients in a lead management and marketing role
Flexibility, self-starter/self-motivated personality, and a service minded attitude
